The Summit is a family run hotel, open since 1973, offering spacious, clean, comfortable rooms in a beautiful setting and the best view on the island. Several key employees have been with the hotel since we opened our doors and they contribute greatly to the sense of family that guests feel at our beautiful hotel. Many guests return year after year, often at the same time of year, in order to see friends they have made at the Summit over the years. The sense one gets when visiting the Summit is one of belonging, and of coming to a place that feels like home. Come visit us and let us welcome you to your home away from home in St. Maarten!
Ownership of the Summit is through a Special Purpose Foundation incorporated in Phillipsburg, Sint Maarten under the laws of the Netherlands Antilles. Every Special Purpose Foundation must have what is known as a “purpose clause” and the Summit's is “to preserve the natural beauty of the Summit Hotel” for generations to come. This is our guiding philosophy and helps explain our enthusiasm for welcoming more guests to the unique family friendly style of our St Maarten property. We hope you’ll join us.

St. Maarten Prime Minister, the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams, recently helped the Summit celebrate the 40th anniversary of its opening in 1973 at a ceremony and party held on the hotel pool deck. Guests included longtime Summit guests, timeshare members, current and former employees and suppliers as well as current Summit management and ownership. The Prime Minister congratulated the Summit personnel on reaching this impressive milestone and wished us all well as we continue into the future. To view pictures from the event, please click here.
