Get Out And Discover The Caribbean

St Maarten/St Martin is the hub of the Northeast Caribbean and nearby islands provide many opportunities to explore a wide range of beautiful beaches, world renown dive sites, an island rich in early United States history and even to rub shoulders with the rich and famous on one of the most exclusive islands in the world.

Visit one of the nearby islands or charter a cruise during your stay at The Summit, and truly immerse yourself in the Caribbean. These St. Maarten cruises and island excursions offer an experience you will never forget, and are the perfect way to make the most of your time in St. Maarten.

Nearby Islands:

Saba: Known as the “Unspoiled Queen of the Caribbean,” Saba is less than eight square miles in size and located just 31 miles from St. Maarten. Hike through five levels of rain forest vegetation to the highest point in the Eastern Caribbean and enjoy visiting The Bottom, Saba's capital city, to experience the warmth and friendliness of the local Saban people. The surrounding marine park offers world class scuba diving where you'll see unspoiled coral, numerous shipwrecks and the occasional dolphin as well.

St. Barth's: Gustavia, the capital of St. Barth’s, is just 16 miles from St. Maarten and hosts many designer boutiques, trendy restaurants and wonderful people watching. The island is small enough to explore in a half day and rental cars, scooters and taxis make it easy to get around. There are 14 beautiful beaches to visit on the island and they are never crowded, even in high season.

Anguilla: Just 13 miles from St. Maarten, the British island of Anguilla boasts miles of gorgeous beaches, over 100 restaurants, a championship golf and more. An easy island to get to by high speed ferry from Marigot.

St. Eustatius: Statia, as it is known locally, is just 38 miles from St. Maarten. Once a vibrant trading port in this part of the Caribbean, it was the first foreign country to officially salute the flag of the new United States of America back in 1776. In return, the British sacked the island and it has remained undeveloped ever since. Visitors to the island can enjoy a hike to the top of the Quill, an extinct volcano, as well as visits to the remains of an old Jewish synagogue and cemetery as well as the earth and hospitality that Statians are famous for.
